The new NETGEAR ProSafe plus Switches meet this growing need by providing easy-to-use visibility and limited configuration capabilities. To provide more insight into the network behaviour, ProSafe plus Switches offer traffic monitoring for users to observe traffic behaviour. Additionally, if there are connectivity issues, these switches offer a cable diagnostic test capability that can identify and even locate problems in the cables. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small and tidy - plug in and forget I bought this as my office is upstairs and needed to link two PCs together for NDI broadcasting via OBS. Solid metal build, it's Netgear so it's good quality, plug and forget, plus the bright green status lights make it easy to see what's going on at a quick glance. There is the option of installing a small piece of software to manage traffic if needed, but unless you're pushing a lot of data and need to prioritize something, it's not needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This swiching unit is a good network hub This is ideal for a home or small business where you want to extend your network. I use it because I needed to do just that. My modum/router has 5 ports and they are all used up and I wanted to add another computer and to share a networking printer. All you do is plug in your devices with a standard ethernet cable to any of the 4 ports and the 5th port is the return cable to your modum/router. It is an unmanaged switch and therefore requires no setting up. However, you have the optional software to control traffic if needed..I like that is energy saving using 12watts when fully functioning and when you switch your computer or other device off the port will power down. It is a simple well made device in a metal casing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5-Port Gigabit switch Solid Metallic build. Solved problem of limited network wallports and expanding use of network capable devices. Installed on the wall above skirting board in multiple rooms (comes c/w fixing screws and rawplugs) , Port indicator lights very useful for high visibility quick-glance at switch operation. Have 6 of these with absolutely no problems. Install and forget.
