Rated 5 out of 5 by Eeeps Great NAS drive
Bought four of these in October 2015 to upgrade my Linkstation Quad Pro.
Configured without problems and much quieter than the original 1TB (7200rpm) versions. The Linkstation is now virtually silent.
Linkstation is on 24/7 and so far (8 months) no pending or reallocated sectors on any of the drives.
The drives also don't suffer from any problems with Load Cycle Count (currently average 30) that a batch of the WD Red have been reported to ramp up.
I managed to buy these at a dip in the price for 4TB drives and also got them on the 'Today Only' deal.

Once you get over the fact ALL disk manufacturers use somewhat misleading figures concerning disk capacity you get to the simple bones that this drive is quiet, fast enough, vibration free enough, and a good price compared to WD Red and impossible to tell if it's better or worse. You will have to ask a few years down the line. So far so good. Currently running 4x in RAID 5 (I don't want to hear it) and no complaints. Will be adding another 4 disk array - just wish that all drives were true to there capacity. 12TB is better than 10.8!

This hdd does exactly what is expected of it and was a very good price. Can't really ask for more - except that it continues to do this for at least the five years of the warranty!

Have installed 3TB and 4TB devices, currently using 4 in a NAS and 5 in a server. All very quiet and run 24 hrs a day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Winst Seagate ST4000VN000 6Gb/s HDD for NAS
I purchased four of these drives to replace/upgrade existing Hitachi 2TB drives in a SOHO NAS.
Before deciding on these particular drives I read the available information from Seagate and the NAS vendor to confirm compatibility.
The drives replaced where 7200rpm SATA II drives with 32Mb cache and a typical operating power rating of 7.5W. The Seagate drives therefore offered some operational benefits with the SATA III interface, lower spindle speed for improved noise level and a lower power consumption of just 4.8W.
So far I have had no issues with these drives; replacing the existing drives in the RAID-5 set was straightforward without any problems or data loss (the upgrade was performed live using single drive failure). Overall the drives perform admirably with slight improvement to NAS performance.

Rated 3 out of 5 by dirk362 Good price, poor quality
Ordered 4 drives, to go with TS432-U enclosure. 3 of which DOA for different reasons.
Should have stuck with WD RED NAS drives as never had an issue with those.
Annoyed as I needed the space urgently and now have to go through the hassle of returning 3 drives and waiting for replacements. Hopefully better luck on the 2nd batch...

Rated 5 out of 5 Excellent for a home NAS
Ordered seven of these for my 19TB RAID 6 7-bay Thecus N7510. They are such an improvement on the older 1TB drives I had in my Thecus N3200PRO. They are completely silent, very low power consumption and adequate performance for the NAS.
