Kingston DC1000B Data Center Series SSD
Kingston’s Data Center DC1000B is a superbly high-performance M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD using the latest Gen3 interface with 64-layer 3D TLC NAND. DC1000B is preferably suitable to be used in high-volume rack-mount servers as an internal boot drive(s) as well as for use in tailor-made systems, where a superior M.2 SSD is desirable that includes on-board power loss protection (PLP). The DC1000B provides data centers an economical boot drive solution with the assurance they are purchasing a solid state drive engineered for server use.
Enterprise Data Centre NVMe Boot SSD
Whitebox and Tier 1 Server OEMs are starting to equip server motherboards with one, or occasionally two M.2 sockets for boot resolutions. While the M.2 form-factor was initially intended as a client SSD form-factor, its small bodily size and high-performance make it eye-catching for server use. M.2 NVMe SSDs are developing within the data center providing proficiencies in booting servers to preserve valuable front-loading drive bays for data storage. Not all SSDs are produced alike and using a client SSD in a server application may result in reduced, inconsistent performance.
Other brands of boot drives are used predominantly for booting an OS, but in many instances today the boot drive has another purpose by logging application data and/or configured as a high-speed local cache drive. Hence, the Kingston DC1000B was created with additional durability (0.5 DWPD for 5-years) to handle the OS workload as well as the extra write workload of caching and data logging. Designed for long-term reliability the DC1000B is intended to offer enterprise-level performance, consistency and low latency features normally not established on client SSDs.
