Rated 5 out of 5 by Forester Works well with LInux
This is giving me sustained 70Mb/s plus transfer rates to an external USB3.0 drive. Up to 130Mb/s for single files, but for 20 plus gig of iso images of 4 gig each, 70 Mb/s. That's 3 times faster than USB 2.0.
I'm using 3Tb external drives formatted to ext 4 - Seagate Expansion desktop drives.
I suspect that rate is the best my m/b can handle - it's the same as internal SATA transfers.
I'm running Debian 7.1 (Wheezy), but any modern distro should be fine since the the drivers are built into a modern kernal.
Having a bit of an issue with NTFS drives just now - but that's an NTFS thing, nothing to do with the card.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pete1165 Great USB3 port
This is great to add 2 external USB3 connectors and 2 internal USB3 connectors.
This unit is really small and compact.
I used this to connect my 2 front USB3 ports to the mother board and then also plugged a sata power connector to add power.
Not used it yet as this is part of a build but seems like it will do the job
