You've probably read the USB Tekspek, and perhaps your intrigue, or product interest, has lead you to look up Firewire as well. The two are similar in some respects, particularly some of the products that use the two technologies. Rated 1 out of 5 by An extremely poor quality product I'll start by saying that this product did not meet my expectations or meet my needs. I wanted a powered hub to power some usb devices I use for music production as my laptop does not have enough ports to accommodate all these devices. Unfortunately this device is also unable to accommodate them. As soon as three devices are plugged in they all start to disconnect and reconnect. Disappointing but that's what you get for buying cheap I guess. The product is of noticeably poor build quality. All of the connections (USB ports and power) seem very loose like they may drop out. 17 May 2014
