Rated 5 out of 5 by Aki2403 Fantastic Hard Drive
Bought this for use with an Xbox One.
I've had no problems with it, there is no noticeable difference in load times between using the internal drive and using this.
If you're looking for something to use with an Xbox One you could do a lot worse than this drive.

does everything it supposed to. i havnt tested the included software as i dont need to ; my only drawback is it runs hot when left on for a long while. i dont know if its caused by the usb being connected, the power supply, or both...

Currently these external drives cost about the same as a 3TB bare drive so are good value for money.
2794GB space after formatting with NTFS.
As mentioned in other reviews the USB cable is too short particularly when compared with the excessive length of the power cable. Despite having a separate power cable they still use a Micro USB connector at the hard drive end but longer ones are fairly easy to obtain.
They don't appear to run too hot despite being passively cooled and are fairly quiet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SuperSniper Nicely packaged. I bought two.
There is everything to like in this drive.
There are manuals in several languages (I deleted all the ones I cannot read, which left English).
I have NOT tried the backup program provided with the drive for fear of exclusivity of the end result. It may be fine however and you should not be put off.
The drive is already formatted and I was using the drive almost as soon as the drivers were loaded (win7/64 bit).
The drive USB connector is not one I have seen before, being a double barrelled affair though I am told it is yet another USB 'standard'..
I should buy a spare cable just in case.
The USB cable provided with the drive is not quite long enough to get from the back of a desktop PC to round the front IF you needed the drive that close, but it does the job.
The 12v PSU is adequate, (very long cable), though with so many of my 'bits' needing an external 12v PSU, I am tempted to power them all with a Yuasa 12 17AH battery and ONE trickle charger.
Because I have two drives, I also bought a 4 output USB 3, PCie card as I have had issues 'ejecting' mass storage devices when more than one is connected to the 4 front panel sockets.
Now, IF someone came up with a RAID 5 controller based on a Raspbery Pie, I would get another two drives and enjoy 9Tb of RAID storage, Hopefully NAS. (My 1T Buffalo Terrastation has been running continually for nearly 3 years and it doesn't understand batch file wildcards).
A large light on the front indicates which (of my two) drives is in operation and I have had to label the drives so I can tell them apart.
I also note that the case seems seam welded shut so, IF the drive fails on you, you will probably destroy the case getting to the drive.
The drives spin down when not in use which means I COULD leave them powered and connected at at times but I as I crave security, I will probably not do that as I live in fear of having a drive fail when I need it.
The life of a drive is claimed to be 5 years of spinning, less if you spin it up and down a lot.
I am a happy bunny. The drive suits me to a tee.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bluit great for storage and backup
Have a lot of Samsung products, always been very good and have not had problems with them. I have found this reliable and very quick via usb 3 connection. The only down side I find to a lot of external drives coming through is the lack of power on/off switch probably to keep costs down, but as I use this for sharing it's not a problem.
