Choosing a monitor is not an easy decision to make, and not just because of the large number of variations in resolution, refresh rates, sizes and connectivity options. There are also varying panel technologies used to form each display that need to be considered. These panel technologies can be grouped into three broad categories which cover the vast majority of monitors sold in the consumer market.

34" Acer Predator X34A Curved QHD NVIDIA G-Sync Gaming Monitor, IPS, 60Hz (100Hz OC), 3440x1440, 4ms, Tilt, DP/HDMI/USB3 is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant Brilliant G-sync monitor for the price because ASUS cost more and use same panel as ACER X34A. It took half year to decide which will take ASUS or ACER Nice option with LED lights under monitor. Excellent with no back light keyboards. Only disadvantage due HDMI port with max 50hz and realy HUGE box. Back light bleed only on left top corner with size less than 1 square cm . And noticeable only when you try to find. Otherwise impossible to see. Never go back without g-sync and using two 1080's Overall best buyin this year Highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommended The x34a has an improved GUI and stand, compared to the original. Due to this I haven't been able to find a single issue with it so far minus my lack of knowledge into how g-sync worked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No words can describe.. just how good this screen is! It blew my mind when I pulled it out of the box and continues to blow my mind every time I use it. No bleed issues, no pixel issues, just curved screen joy! Yeah its not cheap but you are buying the best so it's going to cost. Doom, BF1 all look incredible!!!! Running it with everything on Ultra with a GTX1070. It really has changed my life!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Monitor I've owned the monitor for about 2 months now. Super widescreen gaming is by far more enjoyable than 16:9. Playing titles such as BF1 and RS6 become so much more immersive. Colour reproduction on this IPS display are great, coupled with G-Sync and 100hz. It makes it a fantastic experience. My only gripe is backlight bleed. This is my 2nd X34. The 1st one i got from Amazon had backlight bleed so I sent it back. This one also has backlight bleed but i've decided to keep it. It seems to be a bit of a lottery if you get a good panel. This doesn't effect any of my gaming and i'm happy with the monitor but cannot give it 5 stars due to backlight bleed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor for gaming.... The Acer Predator is an absolutely fantastic monitor for gaming, the G-SYNC feature works very well with my GTX 1070. It is now so immersive when I play games, the ultra wide aspect is just right in my opinion. Picture quality is excellent, and the led lights underneath are a nice touch. The menu buttons are underneath the screen, and can be a touch fiddly to start with, but you soon get used to it, and the menu itself is quite intuitive. All in all, I would highly recommend this monitor, so if you can afford it, go for it! Just a quick mention, imo you will need a minimum of a GTX 970 to run this via display port to get reasonable fps at this high resolution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent monitor. Absolutely brilliant monitor, no complaints whatsoever (OK - the price is too high lol), no dead pixels, goes up to 100Hz fine, picture quality is amazing and gaming on this with Nvidia G-SYNC is fantastic, it feels like I'm running a much more powerful graphics card than a mini GTX970, can run most games in high settings and not even notice any frame rate drops, it's just smooth with no tearing or stuttering. This version has height adjustment and tilt, but also pivot's left & right which must have been added on this refresh model. So much more immersive in games & movies. The settings kept resetting to the default and I had to enable G-SYNC & 100Hz every time, but after a few days it remembers your settings and I don't need to touch the menus anymore (maybe an internal battery that charges for saving menu settings ?). As for navigating through the menu system - it's easy & reviewers must be just dumb because it's on screen what each button does - simple ! Overall the best monitor I've ever used, looks great performance is great, high price as it's new tech but get one if you can :-)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice monitor let down by quality issues I bought one of these recently and after about a week returned it for a refund. Ultra--wide gaming is very nice when you can find support for it and its a shame the format is not natively supported right now but that wasn't the reason I sent the monitor back. Poor quality control meant that I wasn't prepared to just accept issues like excessive levels of back light bleed and poor panel uniformity or that odd little cloud of discolouration that my eye would be drawn to whenever there was a white background... Not to mention the slight coil whine noise when the G-Sync unit was 'overclocked' to 100Hz. I paid almost £1000 for it at the time and the corners of the screen glowed orange like the sun whenever there was a dark background and that was after calibrating the screen. Maybe others could be more forgiving but not me at that price. Try harder Acer. Better Quality Control is needed.

Questions & Answers

Would a single GTX980 be able to power this?

I currently have a GTX980 in my build which powers 3 x 24" 1080 monitors without any sync. Would my card be capable to push out Ultra on this monitor? Or should I be looking at SLI'ing it?
Asked by: Hex0plasm
Yes, but better use at last NVDIA 10th series GPU for better DirectX 12 performance.
