2TB Seagate FireCuda ST2000LX001, Hybrid SSHD, 7mm 8GB cMLC NAND, SATA III - 6Gb/s, 5400rpm, 128MB Cache, 5.6ms, OEM is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seagate 2Tb laptop drive The drive arrived on schedule and was easy to fit and to get running, performance is good with no problems. I cloned it from the original disk and used Seagate Utilities to manage the disk. I can't give 5* as it has only been in and working a short time. Guarantee is better than WD disk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for use in PS4 Excellent product, 2TB drive works well in PS4, allowing me to store many more games than the standard 500GB drive. The hybrid drive also helps a little with load times/menu lag in my experience, so it’s definitely worth the extra over a standard HDD in my opinion. Overall very happy with this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Okay for a console upgrade I bought an SSHD recently and have been singularly unimpressed by it's performance. As a primarily desktop hard drive these things are horrible (especially if you have a lot of programs that start up with Windows) at times booting my PC was taking over half an hour. Using a new clean windows installation doesn’t improve matters a great deal either and neither does resetting your OS. The problem with these drives is that solid state partition is too small to actually fit all your boot files on so the firmware is constantly arguing with itself about what files should be cached on it resulting in stupidly long load times and long moments in which the PC appears to be doing nothing at all (in fact the only way you can tell that your PC is still working is the hard drive light); you can sort of temporarily alleviate this issue by shutting down and rebooting repeatedly, but then you start actually using your PC again and the problem is back in no time. I currently have my SSHD drive in my PS4, it's okay here but the performance is not noticeably better than it was with the sony factory fitted drive (at least, unlike with my PC, the performance isn’t obviously worse). My advice: buy a 120gb SSD and instal windows and your start up programs there and buy just a plain old HDD for the rest of you files - or buy one of these and hate yourself for day after.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Just buy an SSD This drive runs slower than a standard hard drive and costs more. If you want a speed boost just buy an SSD if you want a large capacity drive go for a standard hard drive, whatever you decide make sure it isn't this piece of expensive rubbish!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent value for money Brought the hard drive to replace existing PS4 drive, fits perfectly and improved the game load times

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Capable drive but unsure of speed claims A good little drive and at only a few pounds more than a regular SATA drive it certainly seemed worth it. I’ve certainly not noticed any speed differences between this and my previous 1TB 7200 rpm drive, although there are moments when it appears to pause to spin up. This is curious as my power settings prohibit this. I’d say it’s certainly worth a go. Longevity will remain to be seen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used in Xbox One S Bought this SSHD to put into my Xbox One S. After powering up this console from new, you only get 365GB usable space from it's stock 500GB HDD. After putting this into the console, I now have 1.6TB usable for all my games and captures. Fast boot up and load times reduced, very very happy with this drive.

Questions & Answers

PS4 compatibility

I'm looking at this drive as a possible upgrade for my PS4. I like the idea of an SSD, but a hybrid like this seems a reasonable price compromise. I'm OK with doing the upgrade myself, but want confidence this drive will work.
Asked by: hengistrob
I’m currently using this exact drive in my PS4 slim, can confirm it does indeed work. As an added bonus, the hybrid SSD seems to have helped a little with load times and menu lag.
