Choosing a monitor is not an easy decision to make, and not just because of the large number of variations in resolution, refresh rates, sizes and connectivity options. There are also varying panel technologies used to form each display that need to be considered. These panel technologies can be grouped into three broad categories which cover the vast majority of monitors sold in the consumer market.

28" Acer XB281HK Predator XB1 4K 60Hz NVIDIA G-Sync v2 Gaming Monitor TN, 3840x2160, 1ms, 100M:1, DP/HDMI/USB3 is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time 4K / G-SYNC - this is amazeballs I've built a rig recently (i7-6800K @ 4.25 GHz, 32GB @ 3.125 GHz, GTX 1080) and was stuck with a 1080p cheap monitor from Acer (K222... something blah). I was hunting down G-SYNC monitors for my GTX 1080. I assessed different resolutions from 1080p to 2160p, whether its curved, extra wide, ultra wide, knowing 4K had the highest resolution and gaming even with 1080p was hitting a limit, also the refresh rates from 60 Hz to 160+ Hz ?! I saw the deal on this dropping to £399 and finally took the dive. It was worth it. Screen is SO much clearer (125% text size on Windows 10 is a nice small size but not too smalI a size that I squint like McGoo). I played Supreme Commander Forged Alliance off the bat - Oh My Sweetness - the clarity (had to drop anti aliasing from 8Q to 2 - I was concerned about reading about 4K monitors and GTX 1080 single cards and below, until I saw it for myself...) was just amazing. AMAZING PEOPLE - the frame rates between 45 to 60 Hz were too silky smooth for me to notice anti aliasing problems - and with SUPCOM you can ZOOOM way in - trust me. I henceforth decree my full recommendation for this product at 400 coins.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the best monitor I've had. This is the first 4K monitor I have had and my first monitor with G-Sync. I'm using this monitor as my main display, and my old monitor at 1920x1080 as my secondary display. The setup works perfectly with very little setting up in windows. I can run my games that use the 3840x2160 resolution at low to medium anti-aliasing settings, there doesn't seem to be a need for any higher aa. I've not noticed any screen tearing since using Predator XB1. There is the same amount of light bleed as on all the flat screen monitors that I have had, which is very little, and I only notice it when I first power up the monitor. If I had the money, I would buy another 2 of these monitors for a three screen setup. Now that I've used a 4K monitor, I wouldn't use anything else for typing, editing or gaming. It's just so easy on my eyes, fewer headaches and less eye strain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazed A present for my 20 something son, so this is his feedback. He was amazed when I gave him the monitor and the feedback after he had it up and running, he was truly amazed! He has an all singing all dancing computer thats water cooled using an Nvidea graphics card so this monitor is made for it and adds to the cabaret of singing and dancing. He told me he set everything to ultra and his mind was blown. I think he likes it!

Questions & Answers

What is the version of the HDMI port?

Asked by: FlashFire
I did look into this more and also found that the HDMI port does 4k at 30Hz meaning it's lower than HDMI 2.0. UHD is 4k (or 8k) at 60Hz so the monitor doesn't support UHD on the HDMI port. I think Acer should be clearer in stating it only supports UHD on the Display Port like Asus do with their 28" 4k monitor. The reason I originally wanted to know is because I use DP for my PC & HDMI for my Xbox One S which has a UHD BluRay player. As the HDMI doesn't support 60Hz I'll stick with my Asus PB287Q as the only benefit of buying this would be the g-sync.
