These panel technologies can be grouped into three broad categories which cover the vast majority of monitors sold in the consumer market.

NVIDIA G-Sync
NVIDIA G-Sync
Date Issued: 17th Dec 2013

G-SYNC works in a surprisingly simple way - it calculates how long the present frame takes to compute and then, crucially, varies the refresh rate of the monitor to match. It works between a minimum of 33.3ms (30fps) and the maximum supported refresh of the display. The key takeaway here is that the graphics card and monitor are both synced up to one another - the monitor doesn't have the limitations imposed by a rigid, fixed-rate scanning routine.

With more than one type of connection available, and the thorny subject of signal encryption to contend with, just because your monitor and graphics are capable of 1,920 x 1,080 or better does not necessarily mean they will be able to display HDTV in all its glory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, cheap gaming monitor Superb monitor for the price. Going from 60 to 144hz is soo good and completing that transition from 60 to 144 without spending £200+ is so good. Really recommend this monitor. Price to performance is 100% worth it.One thing that's kind of annoying but you get used to it I guess are that the besels are quite chunky but doesn't bother me. I'f your wanting to get into high refresh rate gaming without spending over £200 this is the monitor to get.

Does this monitor come with display port?

The title of this listing says HDMI/DP whereas the specifications say it has 1 VGA and 2 HDMI ports
Asked by: Taine
Yes, i think that there's that many versions of the KG241Q, there is a lot of misinformation out there. This S version definitely has 1 x DP (1.2) port. and as a bonus 2 x HDMI (2.0) ports. At this price its was a bargain in my opinion. And for me I've been able to run G Sync at 165hz through it without issues (up to now).

Does this have a built in speaker?

Asked by: Mattynews
No the monitor doesn't have built in speakers, although it does mention them in the technical specs. Not a great loss really, I just bought some USB plug in speakers, that way You still don't need another plug. Great monitor once the colour and brightness are set up. Also even though it doesn't say in description, I am able to run my Asus GTX1060 6gb Strix at 165hz through G Sync without issues.
