Product Overview The RocketRAID 600 series are designed to optimize storage performance and redundancy with RAID levels 0, 1, 5 and 10 with port multiplier enclosure, and JBOD.

Storage connected directly to the RocketRAID 600 series data ports deliver the highest performance while external disk enclosures with port multiplier device will enable higher storage capacities

The RocketRAID 622enables the use of the industry’s newest and fastest hard drives at 6Gb/s while providing backward compatibility to legacy 1.5 or 3Gb/s drives. It uses the same cable and connectors as previous SATA generations to ease integration.

The RocketRAID 600 Series offers the next generation of SATA 6Gb/s connectivity support to port multiplier enclosures for a maximum of 10 SATA devices.

Using PCI-Express 2.0 doubles the bandwidth of existing PCI-Express bus for faster data throughput. Each PCI-Express lane provides up 500MB/s of throughput. It is also backward compatible with previous generation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap but unworkable Highpoint support is terrible, they posted wrong bios and also failed to properly assist my tickets. This card does not work with modern UEFI motherboards (i tried with a AsusH110M-Plus and it and its subsequent replacement it failed to be bootable with) Do yourself a favour and just buy a motherboard with onboard raid. It will NOT give you the bootmenu to enable you to setup a raid and thus cannot be installed onto.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A simple and effective RAID controller As the title says, this card is simple and effective. It installed easily into an existing build. I chose to pre-install the Windows 10 driver before installing the card. A slight scare on first boot as the BIOS boot order had been changed but that was an easy fix. The first Windows 10 boot with the card installed produced a "Driver loaded but hardware not found" message in Device Manager - at this point I had no drives connected to the card. Shut down, connect a drive and re-start and card/driver was happy. Shut down machine, unplug drive and boot up again and this time I was met with a shrill "whistle" alerting me to a drive failure - it certainly gets your attention! I didn't see anyway to turn this off in the card's BIOS which means you have to install the card's management software which is simple to do. Once installed, the "whistle" can be acknowledged and if desired, turned off completely. The software also allows email alerts to be configured which will be useful. I eventually installed two 3TB drives in a mirrored configuration and this works very well.

does this work with 5tb drives?

My Asus p8p67 doesn't even recognise 5tb at BIOS level so wanted to know if this will be compatible...

I can't say for 5tb drives, I've got two WD Red 3tb drives connected and detected fine - my motherboard's on-board RAID controller only saw them as 2GB each.
