Solid State Drive Technology Inside Your SSHD
SSHD technology uses the right amount of ultra-fast NAND flash (the same type used in SSDs) to increase system performance. Seagate’s Adaptive Memory ™ technology effectively identifies the most frequently-used data and stores it in the NAND flash. The results give you greatly improved boot times, application loads and overall system responsiveness.

Affordable and reliable SSHD for your desktop
SSHDs fuse the strength of SSD and HDD into one affordable and powerful device. You’ll be surprised at how little you have to pay to get SSD-like performance in your desktop system.
And since SSD fuses the strengths of both HDD and SSD technologies, you get the combined reliability of both in a solid state hybrid drive product.

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 30 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Works well Very happy with the service , cheers but review needs to quicker 29 December 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product - Great Seller. Disk installed a treat, lightning fast, cheap as chips! SUPPLIER LIGHTNING FAST TOO! 05 December 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very fast! Quick delivery on this item, and once installed and set up it took a couple of days to see the real benefit of this drive. It has to learn which programs you use most frequent before seeing the fast load times and boot up. I'm very impressed with this drive and will purchase more for my other systems. Highly recommended! 13 July 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent does what it says on the tin it does speed up start up time easy to fit I have had no problems 05 February 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good drive Decent machine, good price does what it says on the lid. 24 January 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Product This Hybrid Drive is a good product A little quicker to load regular files than a normal HDD but not as fast as my ssd But at the asking price I feel quite happy with the product Used it for a couple of months now and it has been fine. 20 January 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by would not buy again installed this drive after reading all the reviews. my opinion, a total waste of money. the performance is rubbish, absolute waste of money. 25 December 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Drive The gains are not quite what Seagate claim, ie, you wont get the same perfomance as a full blown SSD/NAND, but there is no doubt that these drives show a noticeable improvement over standard drives, boot up is quicker, regularly used programs start up quicker and all round the system generally feels just that bit snappier. Would def recommend to anyone building a new system or needs a replacement drive that wants to keep economy in mind but gain a little extra boost an little to no additional expense over a standard drive. Well wortht the investement. 12 November 2014

Will this drive fit a PS4?

I am getting my PS4 later in the week and i know that the drives on them are upgradable. I have seen online people using SSD's or HDD Hybrid drives. This looks a really good price/performance upgrade for the PS4. Any idea if it will fit. I know the size is right but i think the clearance height for the drive is only 9.5mm.

Thanks
Mike

Answer:
The PS4 takes a normal **2.5-inch** hard drive, and you can replace it with any other 2.5-inch drive (HDD or SSD) as long as it’s no taller than 9.5 millimeters and has a capacity of at least 160GB.

Answer:
You'll need a 2.5" drive to replace the one in a PS4. Use either the Toshiba MQ01ABD100H, or the Seagate ST1000LM014.

Answer:
Hi mike, that drive won't fit, you need a 2.5" for the PS4. A "laptop" hard drive. This 2.5" SSHD's will fit your PS4

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1tb-toshiba-mq01abd100h-hybrid-sshd-sata-iii-25-5400rpm-95mm-32mb-cache-8gb-ssd .

However you won't get any increased load speed on your games that are on disc.As you are limited by the read speed of the bluray disc drive.

I have a PS3 with a 120GB Kingston SSD and apart from GT6 where you can preload the tracks onto the hard drive, it makes no difference. GTA V still takes just as long to load as the stock HDD.

Sounds good when you tell people it's running a 1TB SSHD though and it will give you more storage space over the stock HDD.

I have a gigabyte am2+ motherboard which supports sata 2, will this drive be ok, I know it will only run at 3gbs, do I need another cable as well? Or am I better going for a standard sata 3 drive rather than hybrid drive.

Answer:
Yes it will be ok, have one in an old Intel LGA 1156 board, and no extra cable, apart from one standard sata power and one standard sata data cable, required.
Your actual choice is a standard sata 3 drive PLUS an SSD or one of these hybrid drives. The second choice gives some of the advantages of the first at a reduced cost. A non hybrid drive gives none of those advantages,

Answer:
Short answer. Buy this and a 6GBs cable and you will see a performance increase. You don't need the cable but every little helps. it might go a little over 3GBs.

Your right that the drive will only run up to 3GBs on your mobo, so you don't need to buy a SATA III 6GBs cable to run it. It will work up to the intended 3GBs of your mobo. A 6GBs cable will also work, but only upto the your mobo's limit. but as the mechanical part of the drive can't reach the 3GBs limit of SATA II, you will see a performance increase with the addition of the SSD portion speeding things along, but only up to 3GBs, maybe a little bit more.

I'd say if you were thinking of getting this or a HDD, I'd say go for this one 100%.

Mine is running on a SATAIII Gigabyte Z87 OC and compared to the SATAII HDD it replaced there is a significant difference in performance. I've went from starting a game of Battlefield 4 with everyone already capturing flags, to sitting waiting in the deployment area at the start waiting for enough people to load up the game.

Answer:
This is a 3.5" drive, you need a 2.5" laptop drive for the Mac book pro.

this 1TB SSHD will fit as for how much faster that is up to the sata controller. On the early mac books the standard is 1.5GBs but you will still notice a performance increase over the OEM hard drive.
