Rated 5 out of 5 by from reliable UPS This is the 2nd APC UPS I've bought (from scan). The other is still running after 10 years, The local electricity board have kindly arranged to test it every few months... How long it lasts depends on what the load is. I'm running a 9 disk file server (not as heavy a load as intense graphics) It reports 43 minutes run-time, under normal use. I sized it because we have double bounce power failures and I didn't want it to still be recharging from the first when it needed to be doing a controlled shutdown. I trust the new will be as reliable as the old

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as good as expected Good service as always form scan but the product I cannot. One would assume from the advertising higher output than actually provided, I am genrally disapointed in this item and due to the computer draw it acts mainly as a surge protector and does not carry enough backup power to be useful. Read the spicifications in detail to ensure compatibitly and i recomend spending more on a higher capacity unit to ensure you have longer to shut down. Great for a small laptop or low draw pc, gmaing or anything else buy a bigger one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's an UPS. It's boring, but they're *meant* to be boring. I've got my Synology, gaming PC and numerous low draw things - cable modem, Vive base stations - running off this. I plugged the USB lead (printer type, not supplied) into the disk station which detected it and sent me an email when I tested the UPS by hitting the mains switch. The Syno will shut down automagically if the power stays off (I'll be there to manually shut down the PC if that happens.) I also tried running a laser printer from it, but the additional power draw was too great on the heat part of the print cycle. The UPS is silent when it's on mains power, but makes a loud buzzing noise on battery. That's not a problem; it serves as an additional warning to shut things down in good order. There are more exciting things to spend money on, but if you value your data this is a worthwhile investment

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected What more can I say. It just works. Removed the battery test receipt from the side of the case. Plugged it in (fully charged on arrival), connected my PfSense Router, 150W POE switch (thus wifi AP), modem, low powered unraid server, ADT Alarm box to the power outlets. Connected a USB cable to my Pfsense router and ran apcupsd to provide network UPS information (mainly to the Unraid box) all worked a treat! Its my first UPS so I don't have anything to compare to but it does what I need. It estimates that it will run for about 50 mins with all that on battery power. I would say it does tend to overestimate its run time when on AC power. When the power cuts the estimated time drops by about 10%. Other than that it seems well built. Would buy again and recommend.
