Product Overview Corsair Air Series LED high airflow PC case fans combine efficient, low-noise airflow with striking LED lighting. The blades are custom-molded for optimal airflow, and they’re ultra-thin for less noise and turbulence. The sleeved bearing system reduces vibration for quiet operation. The fan blades are translucent, with a frosted texture, so the light from the four LEDs adds a dramatic effect.
Air Series AF fan models perform best in unrestricted spaces with at least 3cm of clearance, and they’re ideal for mounting at the rear or top of your PC case as exhaust fans for your PC’s motherboard and CPU, graphics accelerators, and other components that fill the case with heat. They work equally well as unrestricted intake fans for areas like side panels or bottom intakes.
For high restriction areas like hard drive cages or in other tight spaces where there’s less air volume, check out our Air Series SP models of high static pressure fans. Features • Tuned for high-airflow, large volume cooling
• Better performance than standard case fans
• Translucent, frosted fan blades and White LEDs for a dramatic effect
• Nine ultra-thin fan blades and a sleeved bearing system for less vibration, noise and turbulence
• Custom fan enclosure for ducting air in the right direction with minimal interference.
• Available in single or twin packs.

The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Watercooling
Date Issued: 19th Jun 2008

Watercooling for the PC has been around for years in some form or another, for at least as long as Scan have been in business, with basic physics defining why you want to use it. That means for air cooling, to cope with increasing temperature in the heatsink you need to move the air across it faster. That is why thermostatically controlled fans in your PC will turn faster the hotter something gets.

Anybody who has been near their share of computer systems will appreciate that not all systems make the same amount of noise. There are a number of reasons for why this is so. Firstly, a computer makes noise for different reasons. Generally, anything mechanical is going to make noise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Just like they're more expensive versions... These LED versions of Corsairs AF & SP series fans seem to be identical, same motor, same speeds, same fan blades. Where they save the money is on the build quality (these seem to be made of a slightly more brittle plastic) and they don't have rubber all over the place. Now I have built quite a few computers recently and to be honest, most cases already have rubber grommets on the fan screw holes and they do just as good a job as rubber on the fans themselves. So I saved myself a few quid to get these (plus the case already is white and has a big white LED fan on the front (it's a corsair T600 special white edition case)) and I can't say I regret it. In fact I'm quite happy with it, the LED's are nice and bright and the transparent blades give it a very cool effect. 31 August 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by good value for money i purchased this item in replacement of my stock fan. i have noticed a temperature decrease within the case which is brilliant. the only problem i have is that the noise has increased dramatically. the stock corsair fan i had produced no noise where as this one does. as i use a headset i cant hear the noise that is produced. however, if you were to use a webcam mic, the fan can be heard (very subtly) when speaking. 30 August 2014
