End Of Life
High End
Product Overview SilentWings 2 fans provide the greatest performance-to-noise ratio and highest reliability on the market. They achieve their virtually silent operation without sacrificing airflow, and so offer the perfect balance between superior cooling and serenity as low as 15.7 dB(A).

Their secret: a unique airflow-optimized fan blade design, custom anti-vibration mounts, and a high-tech fluid dynamic bearing with copper core for greatly reduced noise and super-long life.

SilentWings 2 fans are your best choice for any application that requires ultimately quiet operation and uncompromised performance.
Features Virtually inaudible
Advanced fluid dynamic bearing (FDB) with high quality oil avoids mechanical friction. Improved modular vibration damping mounts and rubberized frame help prevent transmission of vibration to computer case and its components. Advanced IC motor controller reduces electronic noises.

Super-long life
The FDB’s copper core enables super-long life of up to 300.000h by accelerating heat dissipation.

Superior cooling
Unique airflow-optimized fan blade design maximizes cooling and reduces noise-generating turbulence.

Flexible mounting
Flexible mounting options include screwless installation to case or components as well as mounting with screws.

The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Watercooling for the PC has been around for years in some form or another, for at least as long as Scan have been in business, with basic physics defining why you want to use it. That means for air cooling, to cope with increasing temperature in the heatsink you need to move the air across it faster. That is why thermostatically controlled fans in your PC will turn faster the hotter something gets.

Anybody who has been near their share of computer systems will appreciate that not all systems make the same amount of noise. There are a number of reasons for why this is so. Firstly, a computer makes noise for different reasons. Generally, anything mechanical is going to make noise.

120mm be quiet! Silent Wings 2 Silent Fan max speed 1500rpm, noise @ 100% 15.7 dB(A) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from A little disappointed. I have never really spend this much money on fans etc before, usually going down the route of "using what I have lying about" But I took the plunge and ordered these based on reviews and the blurb that comes with these special fans. First of all, maximum marks on build quality and the packaging. It does look very fancy. However, at 12v I wouldn't call these "quiet" as such. Of course, quieter than my Corsair ones but they were free.... I honestly wouldn't want two of these spinning at 12v all the time. I have set them both to 7v but at that speed it doesn't shift much air... they are SUPER silent at this speed though. Ultimately my PC did struggle to keep cool on the 7v setting so I might have to trade off sound for temperature which is ultimately what I wanted to avoid. Another thing to note is these are slightly larger than your usual 120mm fan and thus wouldn't fit into the 120mm rear exhaust on my Thermaltake H15 case. I had to change the orientation of my CPU heatsink and move the fan to the top of the case to make it all work as it should. If I had my time around again, I'd purchase a couple of cheaper fans and couple them to a 7v feed because I feel ANY fan spinning at 7v would be quiet. I don't need a £15 fan to do that task as such. It's a shame because I could have gone for the cheaper "pure wings 2" and hooked these up to a 7v feed and saved myself £10.. I doubt there would be much difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Silent, Excellent build quality and great performance These fans can run at very low RPM's for complete silence (the electrical noise coming off my TV on mute is louder). When running at full speed, they are still quiet, achieve excellent air flow and static pressure, making them great for use with radiators or just as air flow fans. As for the build quality and packaging well... they're German, need I say more?
