The two most important components in a workstation are the CPU and graphics card. The CPU is critically important in all applications from basic image manipulation to more complex tasks such as CAD, animation and rendering. The most CPU intensive applications are simulations and CFD (computational fluid dynamics), for which we have designed a special range of workstations equipped with a pair of Xeon processors.
As Intel and AMD produce CPUs in multiple ranges which are not compatible with each other we have arranged our 3XS workstations by CPU platform. The graphics card is the other critical component in a professional workstation, with a faster card rendering the on-screen graphics at a higher frame rate, making manipulating models and textures much smoother and more responsive. The more powerful graphics cards can be also used to speed up rendering times in supported applications. We offer workstations with the full range of NVIDIA Quadro and AMD Radeon Pro graphics cards which have ISV certified drivers for hundreds of professional applications, plus NVIDIA GeForce cards which do not have certified drivers but are a great choice for game developers.
