Customer Reviews

3XS LG15 Vengeance Max-Q is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great build spec in a compact chasis I upgraded to 32Gb Ram and 2x Solidstate Drives Great screen, keyboard, boots fast, plenty of power for my needs and fits into a compact laptop back for transport. At home I'm using an external 2560x1440 monitor, keyboard and mouse. I'm using it for photo editing in Lightroom I'm using it for music production with a Focusrite Clarett Interface and Reaper I'm also using it for light gaming (though plays FH3 on ultra @ 50/60fps, it's super stable locked at 30fps where I think FH3 runs the best due to being a poorly optimised xbox port) This thing has so far worked flawlessly

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does exactly what I wanted it do to. Not too noisy when it's being asked to work at full speed. Very quiet when idling or used for day to say tasks. The built in GPU does the graphics work when high performance graphics is not required and this means that the battery life from full charge is very acceptable. It's slim-line and not too big and chunky. Keyboard for me feels just right apart from having to get used to the positioning of the cursor keys. I like the bio-metric finger print reader used for authentication. Genuine replacement power-supplies seem to be on the rather expensive side, but useful to go an spare well before the one shipped with the laptop needs replacing. Writing that, I just got a spare so one stays at home and one is always in the bag. Screen is quite good and clear. I used a colorometer to calibrate the screen so is shows the correct colours and there was not much of a change to the default colour profile. Sound quality is, as far as I'm concerned, excellent, crisp and clear. At first it's not very clear where the manufacturer's drivers download page is, but after a quick query to Scan, all the device drivers and software is easily downloadable from the main-board manufacturer's web-site. Overall I'm very happy with the laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Yep, I'm a bit of a fan of Scan Computers and been shopping with them approx. 10 years. This was ordered on a Thursday and delivered on Saturday so... 5* for build and delivery. The laptop itself is has a powerful processor, adequate 16Gb RAM, good graphics and, apart from the M2 HDD, has the capability for a 2nd HDD so storage is not an issue. So pretty much 5* for all the tech stuff. It's light and thin and, although I was tempted by a similarly equipped / similarly priced Dell XPS system before pressing the 'GO' button, I was pleased that I chose the Scan system as it came with many more connectivity options than the Dell and, as previously stated, the option to add a 2nd SSD HDD. So 5* too for the chassis design (which incidentally, mine is based on a Clevo P950HP6 product). For potential buyers, it's worth researching the chassis to discover the specifics of what you're getting. Incidentals? * I like that it comes with a fingerprint reader. * I like that Scan provide a USB stick so you can revert back to the original build - which (my fault for needing) I've already used twice within 2 weeks of my personalised build. What don't I like? The keyboard - that's a personal thing, I'm involved in typography / / illustration / design etc. and the keyboard looks like something from my 1960s schooldays. Its liveable with and not Scan's fault but not very pleasant to be in front of from a aesthetic perspective but it works just fine. So 2* for the keyboard. But generally 5* for Scan, the product etc. etc. Hope that helps other shoppers....

Questions & Answers

3XS LG15 Vengeance Max-Q Specs and RAM

Hi, 1) I can't find from your web site what ports / connectivity this laptop has (USB, LAN etc. etc.) would you mind sharing? 2) I notice that you have several RAM options. Would there be any downside of selecting 1x16Gb stick instead of 2x8Gb? Choosing one stick would allow me to consider adding a second one later. 3) I'm pretty sure that you use Clevo chassis, would you mind sharing which specific chassis this is as I'd like to have a look at the owners manual. My thanks Rog

There is one HDMI port. Two display ports. Two USB-C 3.1 ports. Three USB-A 3.1 ports. Microphone jack. A shared headphones and optical digital out jack, SD/MMC card reader and a Gigabit LAN port. I guess having two SODIMMs in will allow the memory controller to operate in dual-channel mode. Chassis is P950HP.

external gpu

hi would this laptop be compatible with an external gpu dock
Hi, Unfortunately the chassis we use for this laptop does not feature a Thunderbolt enabled USB 3.1 port so you would be unable to use this laptop with an external GPU. Please note if you are looking at the Full HD version of this laptop then the GTX 1060 featured within it does a very good job at this resolution. I hope this helps. Kind regards,
