Scan Mini N1
System Overview

The Scan Mini N1 is based on the Intel NUC system so is one of the smallest PCs ever built. Inside the tiny chassis that is small enough to fit in your hand is a quad core Intel Celeron J3455 CPU running at 1.5GHz with Intel HD 500 graphics, 8GB of 1600MHz Corsair DDR3L RAM and a 500GB Seagate Barracuda hard disk. The Mini N1 is not only tiny, but also very power efficient, so is ideal for those users who want a PC with green credentials for the office or home.

Customer Reviews

Scan Mini N1 is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent little system Bought with Windows 10 Home to use as an online media replay device driving a DAC and a TV. Got the 280Gb SSD and 8Gb memory. I have not yet heard a peep from the fan and as far as I am concerned it is completely silent. It came well packed and booted up out of the box to a "virgin" Windows 10 system that went through its normal configuration. Celeron processor is quite fast enough for browsing and running audio and video software although installing major Windows updates was noticeably slower than on a full desktop. I am accessing it remotely with VNC from an Android tablet or desktop and this is delivering acceptable performance. No real need for a kyboard or mouse for an HTPC configuration. I cannot say anything about wireless performance as I have only used this on a wired network. Only point prospective purchasers should be aware of is that at the time or writing there seems to be an issue with the VGA output leading brief image drop out about once a minute. There is significant discussion of this on the Intel forum and it is suggested that this is a Windows driver issue that should be fixable. The HDMI output is solid and as most users will prefer this I have not deducted any stars. I have tried the optical audio output and it seems good. I think that I can hear some superiority using USB at 96 kbit but this was not a blind trial. All in all I am very happy
