It works fine with a Streacom FC8 EVO case and 160W Pico PSU. Some features of Windows 8 can be controlled but it's not a fully functional remote. I use it for turning on the PC, pausing and other basic stuff. I still have to rely on my trusty Perixx PERIBOARD for full control and keyboard input. Basically it's for those who can't get off the sofa to push the on button on the front of the box. It feels good quality and works perfectly well.

This product consists of the receiver module which fits neatly inside the Streacom cases and a remote control unit. The latter is quite small and some people will find the buttons too fiddly for routine use. For my HTPC setup, I’ve only used the remote control unit to teach a universal remote the commands that aren’t already in its database.
The real gem here is the key remapping software that is available for the receiver module. This Windows software allows keys to be remapped in a highly flexible manner. For example, I‘m running XBMC on my HTPC and remapped a key to ‘Ctrl-Shift-M’ - a command which takes you to the DVD menu. Setting discrete ‘power on’ and ‘power off’ commands is also no problem. Care should be taken when installing the IR unit to ensure that it is the connected correctly the USB header pins. It would have been much better if a full USB connector has been used which can only be fitted one way.

I found that the functionality was limited and replaced it with a USB remote shortly after purchasing which worked far better with the set up I have.
