Chassis Airflow Cases >> Chassis Airflow The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke. Read Further >> AMD 64 Processors CPUs >> AMD 64 Processors This TekSpek explains what AMD’s AMD64 CPU instruction set architecture (ISA) is, shows what CPUs implement it from both AMD and Intel, and explains what software is available to run on those 64-bit consumer processors. Read Further >> Core 2 CPUs >> Core 2 There’s been a lot of hype about Intel’s Core 2 recently, even since they launched Core in fact. Words like Conroe, Badaxe and Allendale have been flying around. The bottom line is that Core 2 is the name of Intel’s latest line of CPUs, based on a new micro-architecture, designed for speed and efficiency. Read Further >> Intel Core 2 Duo (Conroe) CPUs >> Intel Core 2 Duo (Conroe) The purpose of this TekSpek is to delineate the publicly known features of Intel’s next generation desktop microarchitecture. Codenamed Conroe and officially titled Intel Core 2 Duo, it’s loosely based on the current mobile Yonah (Core Duo) underpinnings. Read Further >> Overclocking GPU - Graphics >> Overclocking This TekSpek explains why you’d want to overclock your graphics board, the risks in doing so and how you can go about doing it. Read Further >> System Noise Reduction Sound >> System Noise Reduction Anybody who has been near their share of computer systems will appreciate that not all systems make the same amount of noise. There are a number of reasons for why this is so. Firstly, a computer makes noise for different reasons. Generally, anything mechanical is going to make noise. Read Further >>

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good value for money Does what it says on the tin but sadly couldn't use it as wasn't enough cooling for my processor. 10 July 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Extremely quiet and performs well Installation instructions are on a booklet in tiny print. They could be a lot better. Needed to refer to a Youtube video for step-by-step guide on installing the cooler. However when installed it is very quiet to run and has performed to expectations. I can't compare with other coolers but this one has done the job. 29 June 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant cooler, excellent value This is a cracking cooler at a cracking price. I was using it for a quiet rig and even without adjusting the PWM settings in the BIOS found it possible to get a cool chip that was pretty nearly inaudible. During testing I did overclock the chip and at high airflows there is of course some noise: like all things in life you have to find the right balance for what you are trying to achieve. Don't in any way be put off about fitting this cooler: it is one of the simplest out there. Do check it will fit in your case - it is quite tall at 160mm. However, it is not very deep (the front of the fan is just 38mm from the centre of the CPU socket) and I would have thought that getting in the way of your memory sockets is unlikely to be an issue on most boards. Another reviewer commented about the poor instructions (but don't all coolers seem to come with poor instructions?). I've just checked on the manufacturer's website and there is a video showing how to fit it, should you get stuck. Again, another reviewer commented about the thermal paste: there is in my view enough included to allow you to remove and reposition the cooler should you need to do so. 12 May 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Very good but sound issues. Excellent cooler, great temps, gets the job done at a low price, my only issue with this cooler was the fan, I was expecting a fantastic low noise at 100% speed. How wrong I was, as at max usage while gaming this kicked in pretty loud, I have swapped these out with two arctic pwm fans, and it is fan-tastic :p gives you extra rubber mounts so you can mount two fans, which was great. and just say fits in my nzxt 210 elite, if you're thinking about one of these cases. 19 April 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Simple Single Fan CPU Cooler Dropped about 10'C off the stock Intel cooler I was previously using. Easy to fit, and I liked the rubber brackets for the fan - far simpler than the usual wire clip and also reduces vibration. Only irritation is that the fan comes with a silver sticker that is off centre. Also, a small sachet of thermal paste, which is a one use item. I've bought similarly priced products before - and received a reusable tube of paste in case you have to adjust your fitting. Absolutely not worth criticising the product if that is all that's disappointing about it. 07 February 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by easy peasy Just so easy to put on and nice and quite. Normally used freezer pro. But this is just so easy to fit. 13 December 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Does the job My CPU was hitting 90c+ on games like Battlefield 4, Crysis 3 etc. Since I installed this fan it rarely goes above 70c. Easy to install, very quiet and a bargain at under £30. Only just fits in my case though, it touches the left side panel. 01 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Decent cooler and average price Cooler looks good, fits rather snugly (theres about 2 mm of space between the fan and my high profile Crucial Ballistix DIMMS, anything with a wider heatspreader would have stopped this from fitting! Using a gigabyte z87-HD3 mobo), and isnt too tall (housed in a Define R4 case) Its also dead silent as runs at 1000RPM. Whilst Ive given this a 5 star rating, its quality is 4 due to the fact that the alignment holes on the back-plate dont match up with the instructions on how to fit. It still allows for a secure attachment to the mobo but its a bit poor from Silverstone. (Someone also had this problem in a review before mine) Value is well placed, as when you do look for better coolers, they come in slightly heavier and more expensive - think Noctua! Temps are nice and avg about 26 on idle (after 24hours) 28 February 2014
