I am very happy with my product. It is genuine and contains a DVD and a COA. The COA is smaller than the older Windows XP COA's so I could fit it in some better places on my case.

Hi, just wanna say that I was sceptical about Windows 8 user interface but after few hours I got used to it and it seems quite comfortable. You are eligible for free update to Windows 8.1 with this. System runs smooth, I think it starts up quicker than Windows 7. Before you buy, make sure your devices got support and updated drivers to run on Win 8/8.1 compatibly. On a side note, Kaspersky anti virus programs do not work with 8.1, they with 8 though. Kaspersky installers will support 8.1 in middle of November or so. I was sceptical but I got used to it and I like it.

I bought this Windows 8 disc to run on my 2011 Mac Mini on a 2nd partition (along side the primary operating system Mac OSX 10.8) as my old PC needed to be retired. And what can I say it's Windows...., certainly not the best OS out there but I need to run Windows to run games which are not available on the Mac OSX platform. Is Windows 8 as elegant, robust or as functional as OSX? No it isn't, but is Windows 8 a functional OS with good software compatibility especially for gaming and office productivity? Yes it is, just!
The OS installed without any hitches (thanks in part to Apples ingenious BootCamp utility which allows Windows 8 to run on the Mac hardware) and I am enjoying discovering a different way of working. I do like the new Start tiled interface however it is infuriating having to continuously switch between the tiled interface and the traditional desktop to complete simple tasks. This I think will be addressed when the Windows 8.1 update is released later in October.
All in all a better effort from Microsoft but still stops well short of the Mac OS.

Windows 8 is as useful with a mouse as it is with a touch screen. It does take some getting use to, but if you can use a smart phone, you'll be fine.

it's basically windows 7 without aero. all you need to do is install a start menu (start8 or classic shell or whatever) and disable most of the metro nonsense and you're good to go. only annoying thing is (apart from metro) are the file/folder permissions, you sometimes have to play around with them else you get conflicts with programs which want to save directly to hdd rather than documents.
