Enhanced Data Protection with RAID-On-Chip Technology and RAID 6 for Entry-Level Applications
The Intel® RAID Controller SRCSATAWB is one in a family of Intel first- generation RAID solutions to use RAID-On-Chip (ROC) technology, delivering state-of-the-art power and performance. Designed for solutions using low cost, high capacity SATA hard drives, the SRCSATAWB offers features typically found in higher-end RAID solutions, such as RAID 6 and expander-based backplane support.
Through the use of double parity, RAID 6 delivers data protection even in the case of two simultaneous hard drive failures - a scenario far too common during the stressing of SATA hard disk drives. The SRCSATAWB is built on SAS technology, so it is compatible with the same software stack as Intel's SAS ROC-based solutions. The SRCSATAWB also supports drive bays with expander-based backplanes and up to 16 hot-swap drives.
Enhanced data protection
Supports data redundancy using SATA hard disk drives through mirroring, parity, and double parity (RAID levels 1, 5, and 6) plus striping capability for spans (RAID levels 10, 50, and 60).

Includes the same ROC technology and Intel RAID software as higher price cards, with features optimized for budget friendly entry-level SATA solutions.
Excellent availability
Delivers proactive drive monitoring and automatic error correction. An optional battery backup maintains data without the need for an uninterruptible power supply.

With a SAS-derivative design, the SRCSATAWB allows for hot-swap SATA drives with active backplanes and up to 16 hard disk drives.
