Product Overview

The Premium CPU Cooler Series: For high cooling performance and silent operation

Socket compatibility
Intel: LGA 775 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / 1150 / AMD: AM2(+) , AM3(+) / 754 / 939 / 940 / FM1 / FM2

With the Shadow Rock Cooler Series we achieved to design a premium cooler series that provides demanding users with an optimal cooling performance that goes along with a silent operation.

The four 6mm high-performance heat pipes of the Shadow Rock Pro transport the heat to the optimum place on the cooling fins in the most direct way possible. The wave-like shape of the fins improves the cooling performance and reduces the noise to a minimum.

Even with high cooling performance the cooler with the single-fin-layout stay very quiet. Thanks to the high quality Shadow Wings PWM fan with SilentWings Technology and thanks to the rubber anti vibration elements that decouple the fan from the cooler.

Features

Extra quiet operation through be quiet! fan using SilentWings technology
The decoupled 120mm Shadow Wings PWM fan ensures a perfect mix of cooling power and low noise solution. The waveshaped contour on the cooling fins minimises noise and optimises air flow.

Very high cooling efficiency
Four 6mm heat pipes transport the heat along the shortest path to the optimal point within the cooling fins. The single tower layout saves space while encouraging top heat dissipation from the individual cooling fins.

High-quality materials
Complete nickel-plated cooling element. Stable backplate for a shock-proof sit, even when the computer is being transported.

Chassis Airflow Cases >> Chassis Airflow The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke. Read Further >> AMD 64 Processors CPUs >> AMD 64 Processors This TekSpek explains what AMD’s AMD64 CPU instruction set architecture (ISA) is, shows what CPUs implement it from both AMD and Intel, and explains what software is available to run on those 64-bit consumer processors. Read Further >> Core 2 CPUs >> Core 2 There’s been a lot of hype about Intel’s Core 2 recently, even since they launched Core in fact. Words like Conroe, Badaxe and Allendale have been flying around. The bottom line is that Core 2 is the name of Intel’s latest line of CPUs, based on a new micro-architecture, designed for speed and efficiency. Read Further >> Intel Core 2 Duo (Conroe) CPUs >> Intel Core 2 Duo (Conroe) The purpose of this TekSpek is to delineate the publicly known features of Intel’s next generation desktop microarchitecture. Codenamed Conroe and officially titled Intel Core 2 Duo, it’s loosely based on the current mobile Yonah (Core Duo) underpinnings. Read Further >> Overclocking GPU - Graphics >> Overclocking This TekSpek explains why you’d want to overclock your graphics board, the risks in doing so and how you can go about doing it. Read Further >> System Noise Reduction Sound >> System Noise Reduction Anybody who has been near their share of computer systems will appreciate that not all systems make the same amount of noise. There are a number of reasons for why this is so. Firstly, a computer makes noise for different reasons. Generally, anything mechanical is going to make noise. Read Further >>

Customer Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good cooler, does the job. Poor mounting solution though. As a cooler the Shadowrock Pro is a good choice. As a Be Quiet product is runs very quietly (barely audible at all) and keeps the cpu temps optimal. On a 4670K overclocked to 4GHz it's idling around 35-40C (which is about 13-18C above ambient). In cinebench with 100% on all cores it topped out around 60C (38C above ambient). So as a cooler I'm very happy with it. The con though was the installation. The mounting solution is a bit bizarre. The custom backplate screws directly into the heatsink. Most aftermarket coolers I have used before have a method of securing the backplate before installing the heatsink. The method employed by the Shadowrock makes for a much more complicated install and will be a pain if I want to reseat it later. I wouldn't say you should avoid this cooler, as most people will only have to deal with the installation once or twice, I would however probably look for a cooler with a simpler mounting solution just to make the installation a little easier. 26 May 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product reduced my CPU temps by around 10deg, super cool and quiet. The heatsink is a beast so its pretty big. Had to take the high heat sinks off 2 of my ram chips to fit the sucker in and doesnt quite fit in my case because of my side fans but I knew that already, so make sure you have room for the heatsink but other than that great build quality and does exactly what it says. A+ 08 September 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Light construction so not likely to strain the motherboard. Good, solid mounting mechanism. I bought memory that has its own heat sink at the same time as the Pro SR1 and they wouldn't fit together. However, nearly all large CPU heatsinks will have this problem. The lesson is to go with low profile memory even if it doesn't look so badass. 09 August 2012
