The P8B WS supports 2nd generation Intel® Core i3 series desktop processors and Intel® Xeon E3-1200 series server/workstation CPUs in the LGA1155 package, with memory and PCI Express controllers integrated to support 2-channel (4 DIMM) DDR3 memory and 20 PCI Express 2.0 lanes. System builders can also choose between robust server-grade DDR3 ECC un-buffered memory modules and more mainstream, readily available DDR3 non-ECC un-buffered memory. By supporting different processors and memory types, the P8B WS delivers a wide range of workstation builds for all budgets and needs.
To fully unleash the potential of new Intel Sandy Bridge CPUs, this motherboard uses a brand new 8-phase VRM power design, delivering high power efficiency and supreme overclocking abilities. Furthermore, high quality power components effectively lower system temperatures to ensure longer component lifespan. This motherboard also features 2-phase power dedicated to the integrated memory controller.

The Intel® C206 Express is the latest single-chipset design that supports the new Socket 1155, Intel Core i3 2nd generation processors and Intel® Xeon E3-1200 series server/workstation processors.
