Customer Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Grate Grate product but every time I install a new game It keeps asking me to do an update on the graphics card. Gerat thing to have if your a casual gamer but not if your a big gamer 17 July 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very Good Value for Money; but theres a but. A moved from a R770 to this and i have to admit the performance difference is extremely good. I run a Intel Pentium G850 8Gb of DDR3 1333mhz RAM and a 500w PSU. At first i thought my RAM and CPU would be good enough but suffice to say i was wrong. Compared to other benchmarks i get at least a 20FPS drop E.G in BF4 (Ultra) some reviews get 50Fps avg but i got 30Fps avg. So be warned, you may get some bottle necking with this GPU. Overall there are no significant frame drops like with my 7770 and setup was easy. Good Buy! (pun intended) 20 June 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by No idea how good it is, driver install manager refuses to install Returned to AMD after being burnt a long time ago. And burnt again. Their driver install manager is called Catalyst. If you can't get Catalyst to even partially run, you can't install any drivers so your card is useless. For me, it took the biscuit that Catalyst wouldn't even install on a completely fresh Windows install. Note, Catalyst requires .Net 4.5 (which AMD tell you) AND Visual C++ 2010 and 2012 redists for x86 and c64 (which AMD don't tell you). Still couldn't get it to install. No Catalyst = no drivers = paperweight. So, back to NVIDIA for me. My paperwight will be going back to Scan. 21 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing performance Bought this card to upgrade my hd7770 and what an upgrade it is rhis card delivers ....bf4 on ultra, the lowest I saw it drop to was about 48fps generally quite a bit higher. More than happy along with scans amazing service yet again 110% happy. 03 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by graphic card superb card works really well with my i5 2500k + 8 gb ram plays all my games at blinding speed also really quiet only 1 gripe (a bit pathetic though ) no sticker to put on pc case otherwise a good buy for me 23 January 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great bang for your pound card. Bought this card to replace my dying HD6870. Overall, i am very pleased with it. Aesthetically it looks great, the cooler is very efficient (gaming in OC mode, i never go over 48c with default fan profile). And the performance is nothing to scoff at either. Here is my modest rig as of now - AMD Phenom II 965 @3.8GHz Crucial Ballistix 8GB 1600MHz MSI 990FXA-GD65 MSI R9 270X 4GB Corsair 650W With this setup, here's a couple of gaming benchmarks i ran this morning. (all on max settings except motion blur) (Average FPS) Metro 2033 - 70fps Dragon Age II /w Hi-Res Texturepack - 68fps Skyrim /w 4k shadows + mods & ENB - 55fps The Witcher 2 (ubersampling off) - 60fps Company Of Heroes - 60fps (i think that's capped) Warhammer 40k Dawn Of War II - 68fps 07 January 2014

Power Supply Needed?

Hi, does anybody know the minimum power needed for this card as well as the optimum? Also does the card need external power or is the motherboard power ok (I doubt it)? Thanks, Jack.

Answer:
On checking the card it requires 2 x 6-pin power connectors, therefore we would recommend any reliable PSU over 500W for this card.
