Category 6 cable, commonly referred to as Cat-6, is a cable standard for Gigabit Ethernet and other network protocols that are backward compatible with the Category 5/5e and Category 3 cable standards. Compared with Cat-5 and Cat-5e, Cat-6 features more stringent specifications for crosstalk and system noise. The cable standard provides performance of up to 250MHz.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a 30M C6 Ethernet Cable... Looks like one, feels like one, and certainly works like one. On a serious note, these cables are great. I needed a few to run from the top floor of my house to the bottom, to connect the fibre exchanger to the router, which I insisted was on the top floor (in my office). So I wanted a durable, long yet low-cost solution. This ticks all the boxes, it's a lot cheaper than an equivalent solution from a certain high-street 'PC hardware' store, and a lot more durable, too. Can easily survive being trodden on, caught in a door or running below an under-stairs cupboard's carpet, which lacks a liner and gets compressed between a couple hundred pounds of storage and a cold concrete floor. Will definitely buy again.
