1v1 and 2v2 Map: What could evolve?

Ever since the All Stars tournament the 1v1 and 2v2 map has been questionable since its entrance to the All-Stars tournament but has been left unreleased for Season 4. During the All-Star games the solo and duo fights were a big hit and received mass attention. So what’s in store for this map when its released on the live servers?

Magma Chambers

The Magma Chamber is the brand new 1 v 1 and 2 v 2 map that will soon reach the live servers. This brand new map will allow players to show off their own skills against each other or with a friend. Instead of working in teams and shining as a team, players have the ability to show off their technique in skill level and their overall understanding of the game in this new map. Similar to the Howling Abyss this map is one lane but what is strikingly different is this map is the opposite in element to Howling Abyss. The Howling Abyss is Ice Cold and Magma Chamber is lava and fire, the lanes of Magma Chambers are incredibly short since there is only one turret.

During the All-Stars tournament the rules for these 1 v 1 and 2 v 2 fights were the first person to get the first kill, first 100 minion kills or first turret wins. There is no doubt these rules will evolve into the games that will be taken place on the live servers. The Magma Chambers could possibly evolve League of Legends in a new age and benefit to everyone. This map can increase everybody's skill level of the game, it has the ability to make the players focus more on the importance of farming minions and the farm count.

Magma Chambers

Magma Chambers on Live Servers

On the release of the Magma Chamber son the Live Servers I expect it to become incredibly popular very quickly. Magma Chamber is much like ARAM and since ARAM came officially to the queue the popularity of the map rose and the activity of each server each day. It is certain the Magma Chambers will get the same attention as Howling Abyss raising the activity of the server of those players that want to enjoy League of Legends for fun instead of the competition.

Unlike Howling Abyss, Magma Chambers will focus on all aspects of champion and player skill level on a solo basis. Whereas, Howling Abyss focuses on the dominance of the game and the burst a champion can do to another. This gives a great opportunity for players that do not shine thoroughly in a team but more on their own as individuals through their understand of champions and player technique than team strategy.

Magma Chambers

Magma Chambers in the Professional Scene

As Esports is growing as a whole and ever since s0AZ’s and Wickd’s very famous duel with roughly millions watching this brought mass attraction across the globe. The All-Stars Tournament then raised this duelling hype with all the All-Star players from each role duelling against each other to be named the best in the world. Along with this, the hype of Best “enter champion here” NA / EU also struck mass attention where all the best players of the certain champion in that region fought off to be named the best. The Magma Chamber appropriately fits into all of these and as Riot Games implement more things I'm sure The Magma Chamber can be used for more.

I expect, once the Magma Chamber is officially released we will be seeing a lot of this map as dual offs get more and more popular and stretch Esports across a wider space. I also expect these competitions to be used across different continents such as Korea, China, Taiwan and Australia expanding the competition and Esports further. With these individual duals, non professional players from League of Legends can then take part showing off their capability and skill level by themselves and not in a 5 v 5 team.

Conclusion

Overall, The Magma Chambers give the potential to benefit every person, Riot Games and Esports themselves. It makes the 1 v 1, 2 v 2 and the best “enter champion here” NA / EU more practical and more convenient for the players and the tournaments itself. This also allows players that are interested in becoming a professional player that feel they’re place is as a solo player or duo instead of a team to still achieve their goal but as an individual instead.
